ICT as Platform for Change

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in the Philippines plays an important role in the lives of every Filipino and the community. We used ICT in different things and as a student, I used it in my schooling and it helped me to spread certain advocacies to the people. These are some of my works wherein I’ve used ICT as a tool in presenting ideas and information.

1. Peñafrancia Festival

LLAGAS1

When I was in grade 9, I was a candidate on Hanes Peñafrancia T-Shirt Design Contest. This design depicts the boundless faith of the Bicolanos to our Lady of Peñafrancia and how strong our devotion is. It also shows the event’s theme, “Living Out God’s Mercy and Compassion in the Year of the Poor”. Through this design, it reminds us, Bicolanos, that we should strengthen our relationship with our patron Lady of Peñafrancia.

2. Batch T-Shirt

I’ve made our batch t-shirt when I was in grade 9. The shirt states the famous quote “Together, we stand. Divided, we fall.” which symbolizes the definition of our batch– Xanthrons which means one for all, all for one.

3. Alcohol and Cigarette Poster

MY POSTER SLOGAN

This is an output in my science in grade 9 also. This advocates the prevention of the alcohol and cigarette smoking. Through this poster, it reminds the people of the negative effect of alcohol and cigarette in our health. And it is a powerful tool to enlighten the minds of people on the said advocacy.

4. Polymers Campaign

These cartoons were made by no other than me, of-course haha. This is a campaign for my consumer chemistry subject about the different polymers. We need to educate the Naguenians about the different kinds of plastic and how to properly segregate them.

martial law infographics

Last grade 11, we made an infographics about the societal problems in the Philippines. This infographics shows the Martial Law that happened in Mindanao. This infographics supports our advocacy in informing the people about the Martial Law in the Philippines. Know the stands in times of stance. Make your ego, society, and country be aware to have a mark on peace. From the possible weigh of truth, than exterior motives.

8. Media and Information T-Shirt Design

MIL FINAL SHIRT DESIGN with shirt

We are tasked to make a shirt design regarding Media and Information Technology. This design seems interesting because it made the viewer think about the message of the shirt. It conveys that our actions are connected to one common goal. And in life, in order to be successful, there must have no shortcuts and everything has a process.

  • The above works of mine are all made using Photoshop. I can say that ICT is really a powerful tool in creating and helping in delivering our advocacies. My experience in using ICT was very wondrous. It is very easy to use and you can create things you never expected you can.
  • ICT brings a significant impact on enhancing the state of the Philippines. Along with the development of technology, ICT in the Philippines improved as well. And through ICT, the communication in today’s generation became easier. It started from the telephone and as time passes by, new innovations were done. There comes messenger, gmail, yahoo, and other communicating platforms. I think, without ICT, we are still writing mails and sending them through postal. And without ICT, we weren’t able to express our advocacies and deliver our voices for the whole world to hear.
